Chelsea youngster Pape Daouda Diong is set to train with the first team for the remainder of the season according to reports.
The 17 year old arrived in the January transfer window from Senegalese club AF Darou Salam but was spotted at Stamford Bridge before Christmas suggesting a deal had been agreed before.
Diong ended up being the only incoming at Stamford Bridge in January with the club instead focusing on outgoings with Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen both loaned out.
Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Captial took over Chelsea in May 2022 there has been a real drive to sign the best youngsters from all over the world with perhaps the most exciting being Kendry Paez the Ecuadorian international who will join in 2025.
Diong wasn’t set to be at Chelsea for long with and was expected to follow a similar route to a number of other youngsters that the club have signed under the new ownership.
The centre back is already capped by Senegal and The Athletic have now reported that he will train with the first team for the remainder of this campaign before joining Strasbourg on loan when he turns 18.
The Blues have already sent a number of youngsters on loan to the French club with Brazilian duo Andrey Santos and Angelo Gabriel currently gaining experience with the Ligue 1 outfit this season.
