Man City’s Rodri is one of the best and most respected players in the league right now. His run of games without having lost is reaching stupid levels, and we’d do anything for a player with that sort of steady command of the game in this Chelsea team.
We won’t get him, but we are being at least linked with a player with the Rodri seal of approval.
Nico Williams is a rapid winger rather than a towering centre mid, but the pair of them have played together for Spain.
Marca had some interesting quotes from the former Atletico Madrid and Villareal man where he talked up his international teammate’s ability and how impressed he’d been by his quality in a game:
“Nico was the difference. He changed the rhythm of the match with his stride and the energy he has. He provided a great assist… Nico in his second game with the national team was key, and I had to push him. We put in a great effort
This was after a game back in September 2022, against Portugal in the Nations League.. Williams has only improved since then.
