Raheem Sterling has had plenty of criticism in the last few weeks for not appearing to do the hard yards tracking back, but he does seem to have an appreciation for those of his teammates who know how to run without stopping.
Speaking to STATSports, the winger was asked to name the players in the squad that “don’t stop running.”
He picked out a couple you’d expect, and one who is obvious every time you watch a Chelsea game at the moment:
“There’s a few in our team, Malo Gusto, yeah, Conor, Chilly, their lungs are different,” Sterling revealed.
Gusto and Chilwell both play wing back, where stamina is vital. And we all know Conor Gallagher is a true Duracell bunny, running himself into the ground every game.
Chilwell was reportedly one of the best performers in the dreaded “Gacon test” that Mauricio Pochettino inflicted on his players in preseason, and we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Gallagher wasn’t far off him.
