Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto is close to signing a new contract with the club.
The 20-year-old submitted a transfer request after withdrawing from his squad to face West Bromwich Albion back in August. He later apologised to manager Daniel Farke, returned to training that same month, and has since made 21 appearances for the club this season.

The Italy international, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2027, is now close to agreeing a new deal with Leeds.
The Athletic reported earlier this month that Leeds had always been minded to tie him to an improved deal if Gnonto was willing to sign one amid news that Gnonto was considering changing his agent. Everton made an unsuccessful attempt to sign the winger in the summer of 2023.
Gnonto joined Leeds from Swiss side FC Zurich after coming through Inter Milan’s youth academy. He has since scored five goals and provided five assists in 51 appearances for the club.
He also made his senior international debut in the summer of 2022 and has scored one goal in 13 appearances for Italy.
