A tearful farewell was said at Anfield by Jürgen Klopp, the man who brought back Liverpool’s soul.
Even with his all-black outfit, it didn’t feel depressing. It was a celebration of the man who reignited the dream for Liverpool.
After his last victory over Wolves, Klopp stood in the middle of the field and showed his happiness. Viewing a team full of youth energy and desire he saw this not as a conclusion but as a beginning.
It was a lavish farewell for Klopp at Liverpool. Joel Matip and Thiago Alcântara whose contracts expire this summer received presentations from Sir Kenny Dalglish, John W. Henry, Tom Werner and Billy Hogan.

In addition, Jürgen Klopp introduced Arne Slot as his replacement and asked supporters to back him right away.
With his love for the Kop evident in his red hoodie Klopp gave his farewell fist bumps to supporters on each of the four sides of the stadium.

Jürgen Klopp left with all of this. From minute 87 to minute 94 the Kop paid homage to Klopp with songs.
Anfield also sang the names of players like Divock Origi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino who helped to shape the Klopp era.

An incredible period in Liverpool’s history had a fitting soundtrack. Before the kick off many fans came together outside Anfield.
Everyone wanted a piece of this historic occasion so the lines for match-day programs were longer than usual.
Liverpool performed well and won in Klopp’s 491st game as manager.
Nélson Semedo was sent off for a dangerous foul on Alexis Mac Allister which led to a contentious VAR decision that ended the match.
Liverpool however controlled the game despite this. The game was opened by Mac Allister and the last goal of the Klopp era was scored by academy product Jarell Quansah.
