Following the departure of Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, there have been rumors of a potential conflict between Darwin Nunez and Klopp.
With a 2-0 victory over Wolves, Klopp concluded his nine-year tenure and said the Anfield supporters farewell in a moving manner. There have been talks about Nunez and Klopp’s relationship since observers noticed that Nunez did not seem to clap during Klopp’s guard of honor.
Nunez had earlier stoked rumors by deleting any posts of Liverpool from his Instagram account giving rise to the theory that he wasn’t happy at the team. Nunez has made it clear nevertheless that he and Klopp are not hostile.
He expressed his surprise and disappointment at Klopp’s departure in an interview with El Pais. “No one anticipated Klopp’s departure which surprised us all.
That he’s leaving “ Nunez said. “I would have preferred it if he had finished with a lot of titles but that didn’t happen. The team finds it disappointing as well. All the best to him” he added.

Even after Nunez went to a farewell party and was spotted dancing with Klopp there was still criticism of his behavior. A few people speculated that he might relocate to Barcelona as a result of his social media activity.
Nevertheless Nunez—who is preparing for the Copa América—explained that his Instagram modifications were a reaction to disparaging remarks made online rather than a wish to leave Liverpool.
“Those who deny that negative remarks do not have an impact on them are telling a falsehood. Such remarks are always impactful” according to Nunez. “But now that they don’t matter to me I choose to ignore them”. Nunez highlighted that he has shifted his attention away from online remarks—both favorable and unfavorable—and toward his family.
“I don’t even read the encouraging comments on the internet. I rely on my family when I’m having a rough game. What transpired during the game has already passed” . In reply Nunez wants to clear up any confusion regarding his relationship with Klopp and reassure supporters of his commitment to Liverpool.
Nunez is dedicated to helping the team succeed and is keeping his attention on his play and well-being as Liverpool begins a new chapter under Arne Slot.
