Manchester City have been drawn against Chelsea in their opening fixture for the 2024/25 season.
The reigning Premier League champions will travel to Stamford Bridge in what will be Enzo Maresca’s first competitive game in charge of the Blues.
Supporters on X are confident that Pep Guardiola’s men will get off to a winning start when the campaign begins in August:

City’s first three fixtures will be difficult
A trip to Chelsea for the first game is not ideal and, while the Cityzens do take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town the following week, they then have to travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham before the end of the month.
Considering Guardiola’s side are not exactly known for their fast starts, there is a potential for dropping points early in the season.
City’s key fixtures for the 2024/25 campaign
The two Manchester derbies take place on December 14th and April 5th, with the first being held at the Etihad with the reverse game at Old Trafford.
City face potential title rivals Arsenal at home on September 21st, with the away match at the Emirates on February 1st.
In terms of the rest of the ‘Big Six’, the two games against Liverpool are on November 30th (a) and February 22nd (h), the Spurs matches are played on November 23rd (h) and February 25th (a), while the second fixture versus Chelsea will be held on January 25th.
