After what was a solid start to last season for Dayot Upamecano at Bayern Munich, things began to get a bit rocky at the end, as it often has at Bayern — this time with injuries and successive red cards in the Bundesliga and Champions League. However, Upamecano doesn’t think much of it, as he’s gone through worse as a player:
“No, it wasn’t the most difficult of my career. It’s true it was complicated in the end because I didn’t play a lot. I’ve always kept a positive mindset and kept working, although I played less often. I tried to get my minutes. Now I’m fully focused on the national team. With Bayern, we’ll see after the EUROs,” said Upamecano in an interview with the French national team. (via @iMiaSanMia)
It hasn’t been the smoothest of rides for Upamecano at Bayern, and unfortunately, last season wasn’t any different. If Upamecano stays, fans will hope that things get better for the defender and he can show his class without avoidable mistakes for a full season.
