According to a report from Sky Sport journalists Florian Plettenberg, Kerry Hau, and Sarah Wieczorek (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich left-back Frans Krätzig is close to joining VfB Stuttgart on a loan assignment.
Krätzig spent most of last season on loan with Austria Wien after showing a glimpse of his ability during the summer of 2023 preseason and could now back up Germany international Maximilian Mittelstädt:
Frans Krätzig is on the verge of joining VfB Stuttgart on loan. Last details between clubs are to be clarified in the next few hours. Stuttgart will secure an option to buy for Krätzig. He’s planned as a backup for Maximilian Mittelstädt.
Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) backed up the report and added some financial context:
Bayern and Stuttgart are in talks over a loan move for Frans Krätzig with an option to buy. No agreement has been reached yet. Bayern would like to secure a buy-back clause, while Stuttgart want to have full control over the player’s future. The loan fee being discussed is under €1m.
This could be a good move for the youngster, whose pathway to playing time might be blocked in Bavaria.
