Yesterday, we got the final matches in EURO 2024 Group B, with two more teams qualifying for the Round of 16. With Groups A & B now done, we get to watch groups C and D play.
In Group C, England win the group if they win or draw vs. Slovenia and Denmark loses or draws vs. Serbia. If Denmark beats Serbia, they’re through. Slovenia must beat England to advance and win the group if they do and Denmark loses. There’s also a complicated pathway to the Round of 16 for Serbia.
In Group D, Poland have been eliminated from the competition, but the rest of the group is still up for grabs. Netherlands can escape the group if they simply don’t lose and can win the group if they win and France lose to Poland. France wins the group with a win or a draw. Austria qualifies if they beat the Netherlands and can win the group if they win and France loses.
Meanwhile, in the Copa America, Gio Lo Celso and Cuti Romero are back in action tonight against Chile, along with some guy named Leonardo Messy or something, IDK.
This is your open thread. Vamos!
