Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Robert Andrich has had quite a season for both club and country.
Having gone from an afterthought to a starter for Germany, Andrich is appreciating every moment of this experience at EURO 2024 — and is determined to ensure that his squad will be ready to square off with Denmark.
“I’m looking forward to the crowd tomorrow. It’s going to be a great game with an incredibly great crowd. That inspires me and the rest of the team. We are happy to have won the group. We are now in the round of 16 and the journey is not over yet. We still have a lot to do,” said Andrich (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We are very well prepared for tomorrow. We have looked at Denmark and know that they play with a back five. We want to be variable. It will be a good mix to make sure we can get our attacking players into dangerous areas. If we do that we can be dangerous to any opponent.
“You can see that the team has a certain amount of self-confidence. We want to continue, stay hungry and get to the next round. It won’t be easy, but I’m confident that we’ll go through.”
Germany will need that confidence. While Denmark is not a powerhouse, it should present the Germans with a stiff challenge.
