Arsenal FC is looking like it could make a substantial offer for Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich:
Arsenal are closing in on a move for Euro 2024 star Joshua Kimmich, following reports of an agreement for the versatile superstar.
Kimmich has had a difficult year at Bayern Munich, with Die Roten surrendering a first title in over a decade and the 29-year-old seeing his role change within Thomas Tuchel’s side. After wowing as a right-back in Bavaria, Kimmich was converted into a full-time midfielder – but was last season moved back to his original full-back berth by Tuchel, who didn’t believe he could play in the centre of the pitch.
As long ago as last summer, German outlet kicker claimed that the former RB Leipzig man was considered expendable by Bayern – who have since hired Vincent Kompany as their new manager.
Now, HITC have claimed that Arsenal are well in the mix to sign Kimmich – who scored the all-important goal to knock them out of the Champions League last term.
This follows Fichajes in Spain reporting earlier this year that an agreement had already been struck between the German international and the north London outfit, presumably in terms of a contract agreement, should a price be agreed between the two clubs.
According to at least one report, Bayern Munich could be eyeing up a deal for Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva:
Bayern Munich are weighing up whether to trigger the £50m release clause of Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva. Barcelona hold a long-term interest but do not have the finances to fund a move, while Real Madrid are focusing on signing players in other positions.
During an interview with Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leroy Sané indicated that things are looking good when it comes to his contract situation at Bayern Munich:
Leroy Sané on whether he will extend his contract at Bayern after speaking to Vincent Kompany: “We haven’t spoken that deeply yet. Now I’m focused on the tournament. That’s my main focus. We’ll start talking again after the tournament.”
• But are things looking good?
“So far, yes” [laughs]
Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann did not make any changes going into the final game of the EURO 2024 group stage against Switzerland. Germany struggled to a 1-1 draw. RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo is one of the most sought-after transfer targets in Europe and has interest from clubs like Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona, and Manchester City.
Still, the Spaniard will not focus on his club career until after the EUROs.
“I’m calm and focused on what’s coming, which is the Euros, and which is no small thing. Of course it’s good to see your name linked to big teams in Europe and the world, that motivates me, but I am focused on the Euros and I hope we can win the trophy. Then we’ll see,” Olmo said.
Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Chelsea FC, Atlético Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund are among the teams interested in Porto winger Francisco Conceição:
Bayern have approached Porto and expressed their interest in winger Francisco Conceição (21). The Portuguese international has a €30m release clause, valid until 15 July, that goes up to €45m after that date. Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, Dortmund and Leipzig have also shown interest.
Borussia Dortmund is reportedly leery of Arsenal FC as it attempts to procure VfB Stuttgart attacker Serhou Guirassy:
⚫️ In the race for Serhou #Guirassy, Borussia Dortmund fear FC Arsenal the most – at this stage!
▫️Guirassy has not yet made a final decision. No club has received his commitment as of this evening. Dortmund has made it clear to him that he is their desired striker for this summer.
Decision soon, after Guirassy has informed @VfB that he will leave the club in summer. Stuttgart have expected that decision. The talks were always fair and open.
