Earlier this week, there were reports coming out of Europe suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain could be heavily interested in trying to sign Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich during this summer’s transfer window. The winger, whose Bayern contract runs through June 2027, already spent a great deal of time at PSG with their youth teams before working his way up to the senior squad and subsequently transferring to Juventus in 2014.
There have been a handful of names linked with a move away from Bayern this summer under the new regime of Vincent Kompany, but cold water has been thrown on the Coman to PSG rumor. As per information from FIFA.com journalist Abdellah Boulma (via @iMiaSanMia), the French international is not currently a top priority for the reigning as the club is focusing their efforts on other transfer prospects for the time being.
In recent weeks, PSG has also been linked with potential moves for Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, Feyenoord’s Lutshrel Geertruida, SL Benfica’s Joao Neves, Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, and even Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez. After Kylian Mbappe’s blockbuster move to Real Madrid after the final year of his PSG contract, the Ligue 1 giants are looking to revamp their attacking line and they need to do it on more than a budget than they would have had they sold the star to Real Madrid last summer when they very well might have made upwards of €200 million.
For Bayern, Michael Olise’s arrival from Crystal Palace will add more competition in attack, especially since there is a suggestion Kompany could plan to use him coming in off of the right side; an area that Coman often occupies for the Rekordmeister. Serge Gnabry has also recently said he plans to stay at Bayern this summer and fight for his place, even though he is potentially a candidate to be up for sale during the summer window. For Coman, who is often hampered with injury problems, there will be even more competition for consistent minutes with Olise now in the fray, especially if no one prominent is offloaded.
