It hasn’t been very long since Thomas Tuchel was sacked by the Bayern Munich board, and as it usually goes with getting fired, the German coach is set to receive some money on account of being terminated.
According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia), Tuchel could receive close to 10 million euros for his services rendered this last season. However, that money doesn’t need to leave Bayern’s bank account if Tuchel takes up another job before his contract officially ends, that date being the 30th of June. Tuchel was in talks to become the new coach for Manchester United, but ultimately the Red Devils decided to keep Erik Ten Hag. Perhaps Tuchel refused the job for more reasons than one.
Bayern’s new coach, Vincent Kompany, is supposedly set to receive €7 to €9 million gross per year with possible add-ons included. So, between that, the signing fee for new incoming players, and Tuchel’s severance package, let’s hope Bayern does indeed have that kind of money to throw around.
