Dele Alli has showed that he’s still got it after footage of him training appeared on social media.
The midfielder is working hard to battle back to fitness following a troublesome groin injury that saw him miss the entirety of last season with Everton.
This summer, the 28-year-old is facing an uncertain future after his contract at Goodison Park came to an end.
Alli will continue to train with Everton as he targets a comeback, with the prospect of a new deal with the Toffees not ruled out.
But whatever happens, the midfielder is looking sharp and hungry as he looks to reignite his career.
In a video shared on social media by CP Athlete Performance, Alli can be seen looking lean as he works on his fitness, agility and technical skills.
These include passing, control and finishing – a skill that the former Tottenham star clearly hasn’t lost – as he fired shots effortlessly into the top corner of the net.
Alli scored 67 goals for Spurs before leaving for Everton, during which time he spoke about the devastating impact that trauma in his life has had on his mental health.
Looking to ready himself for the 2024/25 season, fans were very excited to see him looking back to his best.
One fan wrote: “Class is permanent and this guy has tonnes of it.”
A second supporter said: “This Dele comeback boutta be generational.”
“Prime Dele Alli is coming,” wrote a third fan, while another added: “I beg he starts balling again.”
Alli appeared on Monday Night Football in April and said that he’s excited to get back to his best.
He remarked: “I spoke about it in my interview and don’t want to go over it too much again – but I know my level as a player and what I can get to.
“I know how good I can be when my head is in the right place and I’m feeling good. Obviously I’m disappointed with the injury right now but I’m excited to get playing.
“It’s hard for me to even watch football. It’s been tough for me, I’d say, this past eight months has been hard to watch.”
Asked if he’d like to get back to the level he was before, Alli said: “I hope so.
“You know you can set reminders on your phone, I have a reminder at 11 o’clock every day that says, ‘World Cup 2026’. That’s my aim for now.
“I think that people will be like, ‘he hasn’t played in a year’ but I don’t care, I know my level.
“The only target I have is the World Cup right now. Obviously I’m injured and contracted to Everton and so my mind is just about taking it day by day and making sure my injury is healed and that I’m in the best possible condition after the summer.
“It’s annoying because I’ll be just fully training as the season ends so it means that I won’t have to rush it.”
