According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich is — finally — going to close a deal for Fulham FC defensive midfielder João Palhinha.
The 28-year-old Portuguese international has been linked to Bayern Munich for over a year now and almost made the move to Bavaria last summer before a financial arrangement could not be agreed upon by the two clubs.
Now, though, all of those hurdles appear to have been cleared per Plettenberg and “only small details” remain to be ironed out:
Palhinha’s arrival will likely cause some fall out with the existing roster in terms of outgoing transfers and should see some fierce battles for playing time emerge during training camp and over the course of this season.
