According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich’s potential acquisition of Bayer Leverkusen center-back Jonathan Tah is directly contingent on the club’s ability to sell Matthijs de Ligt.
De Ligt has been strongly linked to Manchester United, but things seem to have slowed down regarding a transfer move in recent days. Regardless, it appears as if Bayern Munich is not operating without financial constraints during the summer transfer window:
The signing of Jonathan Tah depends on the sale of Matthijs de Ligt. Once de Ligt is sold, a decision will be made as to whether and to what extent Bayern will accommodate Leverkusen in the transfer fee. Bayern want to pay a maximum of €25m for Tah.
The sale of De Ligt has been a largely unpopular and divisive topic among fans. Similarly, the potential transfer of Tah to Bayern Munich does not appear to be something that is garnering ringing endorsements from the fan base, either.
