A top West Ham source has confirmed to Claret & Hugh that West Ham’s incredible crop of young, talented footballers have a bright future at the club.
Kaelan Casey and George Earthy both featured in England’s Under-20 squad, while Lewis Orford captained the Three Lions Under-19s on his debut. On loan, Callum Marshall has received senior honours with Northern Ireland this season, and Freddie Potts has impressed at Portsmouth.
When we asked our top West Ham source whether there was a plan in place for this current crop of Academy graduates, we were informed that they are expected to be integrated next season: “We know they are good players,” said the Hammers insider. “There is a plan for them, and we expect them to start featuring next season.”
This sentiment was echoed by Marshall, who sees his future firmly with West Ham United and aims to break into the first team next season. “West Ham really value me,” he said. “I’ve built great relationships with the staff around the Under-21s, and I’ve got a good connection with Mark Noble.”
“With three years left on my contract, the plan is to return at the end of this season with more experience from playing regular league football against senior players. That should give me a solid opportunity to progress with the club.”
“We had a fantastic youth team, so they know what I bring to the table—my finishing and overall ability. But it’s crucial to regularly play against seasoned professionals to really develop, and that’s what I’m focusing on.”
