Lost in the hysteria surrounding João Palhinha’s arrival at Bayern Munich and Matthijs de Ligt’s potential departure is the cloudy future for Joshua Kimmich. Liverpool FC could be a little more serious about a pursuit of Kimmich than some are giving the club credit for:
Liverpool plans to outsmart Manchester City to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich after they sealed the Joao Palhinha deal. Kimmich could leave as Bayern prefer to sell him now than let him go as a free agent next season.
The 29-year-old has served the German club loyally while establishing himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe. Kimmich recently represented Germany in the Euro 2024 and assisted in the goal during their eventual 2-1 loss to Spain.
The German international enjoyed an immense rise in reputation after establishing himself as a regular first-team player under then-Bayern manager Pep Guardiola. Kimmich started his senior-team career as a right-back and eventually shifted into the midfield due to his all-round playmaking abilities. In fact, Guardiola said about Kimmich – ” ‘I just love this kid. He has everything.“
According to Express, Liverpool can beat Man City to sign Kimmich from Bayern after they secured Palhinha’s signing from Fulham. Palhinha’s addition combined with Kimmich’s contract situation makes him a surplus to requirement for the German club next season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool lacks depth in their defensive midfield position with Wataru Endo and Stefan Bajcetic as the natural options currently. While Endo produced a good season since signing for Liverpool last summer, he has struggled and needs strong competition.
Moreso than Kingsley Coman, Leon Goretzka, Alphonso Davies, or Serge Gnabry, Kimmich is the next big domino that could fall. Not only would losing him hurt the team’s depth at right-back and in the central midfield, but his leadership would also leave a void.
Well, this is ambitious.
FC Barcelona has a two-step plan for the 2024 and 2025 summer transfer windows to ensure that the club’s attack gets a major jolt.
This summer, Barca is eyeing up Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and in 2025…Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is on the menu:
Barcelona are hoping to make two marquee additions over the next two summer transfer windows – Nico Williams this year and then Erling Haaland in 2025.
Bayern Munich is a busy bee (no offense Borussia Dortmund) these days.

Manuel Neuer has already had enough of not winning trophies with Bayern Munich and is going to help the squad’s push to get back to its title-winning ways.
“We aspire to be number one in Germany. We weren’t last season — and deservedly so. The ambition we’ve had in the past and the motivation we get from defeats are very high. We want to attack again,” Neuer said.
Real Madrid seems very serious about a pursuit of Lille’s Leny Yoro — which could potentially play a role in whether or not the club can make a strong run at Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies:
Real Madrid could accelerate their plans to buy Leny Yoro after learning that Lille have knocked €10m off his asking price. An offer of €50m should be enough to sign the young defender.
With Germany out of the EUROs, Bayern Munich’s activity is heating up in a big way.
Transfer signings, transfer rumors, and everything in between is hitting the news cycle, but what is going on with Bayern Munich is so much more than all of that.
This is truly a new era at the club and within two years, this team could be completely unrecognizable. Is that a good thing? Was it needed? Let’s talk about that and more on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show. Check out what we have on tap:
- We’ve heard the back and forth on negativity toward Bayern Munich, but let’s talk about why some fans are not feeling uber confident in how things are going.

Manchester City could be ready to part ways with Jack Grealish:
Manchester City have decided to sell Jack Grealish amid concerns over his off-field conduct. Former club Aston Villa would be interested in re-signing the England international.
Bayern Munich was loosely linked with Grealish, but that seems like a real longshot for the Bavarians at this stage.
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is confident that if his number gets called, he will be ready:
If the new coach Vincent Kompany tells you “you are the first goalkeeper”, will you feel that you are ready?
Peretz: “Unequivocally, I have the tools to be the first goalkeeper at Bayern”

Now that João Palhinha is in tow to play the No. 6 position, Bayern Munich could be looking for a free transfer of Adrien Rabiot, who could be a candidate at the No. 8 position:
Adrien Rabiot, who has left Juventus after the expiry of his contract, is also of interest to Liverpool, while Bayern Munich and Real Madrid too are in the race for his signature.
It has been quite a year for Heidenheim star Jan-Niklas Beste, who is transferring to Benfica:
