Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz only has to look across the locker room to see the player he feels is the greatest goalkeeper of all-time.
“For me, he’s the greatest goalkeeper in history. Even when I was a goalkeeper at the age of 10, he was my idol, there’s no save he made that I’ve not seen. I have watched hundreds of videos of him, I know every move. I got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train with a goalkeeper of this level. He’s also an amazing guy, we became very close friends, we’re in touch even when I’m in Israel. He welcomed me so nicely off and on the pitch, he helped me with everything I needed, about the club or the city, he was always attentive and available,” Peretz told Yediot Ahronot (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Peretz’s immediate future has not yet been determined despite some reports. The goalkeeper could go on loan again or could stay and backup Neuer. Whatever happens, it is clear that Peretz is embracing the opportunity to learn from one of the best to ever do it.
