Bayern Munich is currently making moves (some puzzling, some good, some really strange) in the transfer market. It seems that Bayern’s first priority from RB Leipzig is nonetheless Xavi Simons although they have contacted Olmo’s camp per @BILD via @iMiaSanMia:
Bayern are in contact with Dani Olmo’s family and agents. The Spaniard is the club’s ‘clear plan B’ if the Xavi Simons deal fell through. Although Olmo’s €60m release clause expires on July 20, RB Leipzig would be willing to sell him for around the same amount even after that… pic.twitter.com/p1j9rdIwZn

Dani Olmo’s entourage prioritizes a move to FC Bayern – where he would compete for international titles – a factor that he attaches big importance to. Germany has grown on Olmo and he sees it as his ‘second home’. Bayern have expressed an interest in the player in principle, but talks are not at an advanced stage. With Max Eberl, Bayern have an advantage. Eberl’s first official act during his time in Leipzig was to extend Olmo’s contract. Both Manchester clubs and Barcelona are also interested. Olmo’s €60m release clause, which Eberl himself had negotiated, expires on July 20th. After that, Leipzig will be able to negotiate a fee
Olmo scored a hat-trick against Bayern in the DFL Supercup last season; there is also an argument for Olmo arguably having been Spain’s best player in the latter rounds in EURO 2024. Bayern perhaps should take this chance, especially considering he has some of the skills of the Raumdeuter and the Raumdeuter himself, Thomas Müller, has a contract for only one more year.
