According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayer Leverkusen has scoffed at Bayern Munich’s proposal for Jonathan Tah — and there does not appear to be much hope for a resolution at this point unless the Bavarians buck up in a big way.
In addition, the transfer discussions with Manchester United for Matthijs de Ligt have “stalled”, which could leave the Dutchman in Germany after it was widely discussed that the club no longer wanted him:
Bayern’s improved €20m + €5m bid for Jonathan Tah was actually made last month. It was not taken seriously by Leverkusen. There has been no development ever since and the player is now back in Leverkusen training. Leverkusen are considering €30m to be the basis to start negotiations.
Meanwhile, the sale of Matthijs de Ligt is stalling. Even de Ligt staying at Bayern is currently not ruled out, especially after Hiroki Itō’s injury.
With so many stories leaking to the media these days, it can be hard to discern what is actually going on with Bayern Munich and its transfers. However, the front office seems to be running into multiple roadblocks on pursuits, which seem quite obvious for even outsiders to identify. Low-ball offers to other clubs and high asking prices on players who the club has no plans for are making the club look amateurish in this transfer market. Will the situation improve?
