27-year-old Joe Gomez has been a Liverpool player since 2015, once tipped to be a long term solution to their center back problems until a massive injury robbed him of his chance and form. Now his time at Liverpool may be up, left out of the matchday squad for the club’s opening game of the Premier League and it seems that this may have caught the attention of Bayern Munich. Well, not just Bayern is interested in the Englishman, Paul Joyce of the Times reports, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. There are plenty of other possible suitors outside of the Bavarians:
Joe Gomez did not travel with Liverpool for their game against Ipswich Town as he explores his options before the transfer window closes. Newcastle, Aston Villa, Fulham, Chelsea and clubs abroad have all shown interest in the England international. Aside from domestic interest, Gomez’s predicament could alert Bayern Munich, who have just sold Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
Gomez has made a habit of playing all across the backline for Liverpool, from left-back to center-back to right-back, and could be interesting for the club at the right price, considering the deal for longtime target Jonathan Tah is stalling. However, the odds are that Bayern have been linked to him purely due to the initiative of Liverpool or the player’s agent, considering how the reports links him to multiple top clubs and Fulham and Chelsea FC.
