Crystal Palace have stepped back into the race to sign Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah.
Oliver Glaser’s side are offering a season-long loan with an obligation to purchase next summer but face they competition.
Nottingham Forest had appeared close to agreeing a deal to sign the one-cap England international before talks stalled, leading them to turn their attention to Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez.
Marseille had also shown an interest in Nketiah earlier in the window but Roberto De Zerbi‘s side instead moved for Elye Wahi from Lens.
Nketiah is expected to leave north London before the transfer window closes on Friday.

The club are also ready to submit an improved bid for Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix with Marc Guehi’s future uncertain
Nketiah has been an unused substitute for both of Arsenal’s games this season as Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a perfect start to the campaign.
The 25-year-old made 27 Premier League appearances last term, scoring five goals, but was limited to just 10 starts as the Gunners were pipped to the post by Manchester City on the final day.
Palace are ready to increase their offer for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix with Marc Guehi’s future at the club still in the air amid interest from Newcastle.
Eagles are also weighing up making a move for Wolves wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri ahead of the transfer deadline.
Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka is also being monitored.
