Leicester were seen as a chaser in the hunt for Steven Bergwijn, and we all loved the idea of having him in the team, but the rumour never became more than a rumour as the Dutch international made his move, deciding to snub Premier League and instead joining Al Ettihad in Saudi Arabia.
Dennis Praet is still without a club after leaving Leicester after last season, supposed to make a move back to Anderlecht, but still without a club as also Italian clubs have shown interest, strangely nothing settled yet.
Matty James was reported back at Leicester, training with the development squad as he prepared for his next move in football, being released from Bristol City after the season. The 33 year old midfielder has been linked with a move to Coventry, a club he knows well after spending time on loan with The Sky Blues in 2021, playing 23 league games and scoring 3 goals.
Steven Bergwijn will no longer feature in the Dutch national team under coach Ronald Koeman’s selections as he believe this move does not trigger the challenge of playing at the highest level, snubbing Premier League possibilities and instead move for money.
Steven Bergwijn was a player that would have fitted the bill at Leicester perfectly, but at this point Odsonne Edouard came in on a season long loan to fill a gap that easily would have been an easy one for the Dutch international.
18 year old Sindre Valle Egeli is a player to watch. Currently playing for Danish club Nordsjelland. He has scored 3 goals in 9 appearances so far at club level, and was recently picked for full international duty by Norwegian coach Ståle Solbakken, being a bit of a shock, but after watching him in games and understanding his progress, this looks as one special.
Another player Leicester should be looking at is Sarpsborg attacking flank, Sondre Ørjasæter. He has really shone under new coach Kristian Mikkelsen and one to watch closely, still only 20 years of age, but one special player.
