Chelsea are all set to travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
West Ham need a win against Chelsea big time, having taken just four points from our opening four Premier League games.
Chelsea are said be missing numerous big names for the game at the London Stadium, whilst Hammers left-back Emerson Palmieri will undergo a late fitness test before the match.
Julen Lopetegui is in desperate need of a big performance from his players, and a result to match of course.
It will be vital to give the Spaniard plenty of patience and time, but without some positive results, that will prove tricky.
Beating Chelsea certainly won’t be easy, especially after the latest update coming out of Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea tweet ahead of Premier League West Ham clash
With so many players rated doubtful for this weekend’s clash at the London Stadium, Enzo Maresca could be forgiven for thinking that his side have their work cut-out.
Chelsea’s official X account posted a tweet yesterday, highlighting how Malo Gusto and Romeo Lavia – two players who’ve been out injured – were taking part in a modified training session separate from the main squad.
That led to the Blues fans accepting that neither will be fit for the Hammers clash.
That all seems to have changed now though.
Chelsea posted another tweet on X today, showing Gusto and Lavia in action at their Cobham training ground.
Having both Gusto and Lavia back and available for selection for the West Ham game on Saturday is major news for the Blues.
They are integral members of Maresca’s squad, and if they’re both fit the Chelsea fans really will be in dreamland.
West Ham record vs Chelsea
Our record against the Blues actually isn’t that bad.
The Hammers have won four, drawn one and lost five of our last 10 encounters with Chelsea.
At the London Stadium, West Ham have lost only once to the west London outfit since March 2017, and we’ve won two and drawn one of our last three home meetings with them.
Chelsea will have most of the ball in the Premier League clash with West Ham this weekend, so our players will have to be well-organised defensively and patient.
When we are given a chance to hit them on the counter attack, our forward players need to be clincial.
I have a feeling that the Hammers may just carry on our fine record against the Blues, despite two of their key players potentially returning from injury for the game.
