Former West Ham United manager David Moyes has given a scathing response to the club’s 3-0 Premier League loss to Chelsea at the London Stadium today.
Moyes, doing punditry work alongside former Sky Sports presenters Andy Gray and Richard Keys, did not hold back in his assessment of the Hammers’ awful performance. The Scotsman even compared today’s humiliation unfavourably to his own home record against Chelsea, which he pointed out was far better than what was seen today.
“They’ll be disappointed because we [West Ham under Moyes] had a pretty good record against Chelsea at the London Stadium over the years. Sure, we had our difficulties at Stamford Bridge, but all in all, we’ve been pretty good against them. They’ll be disappointed,” Moyes pointed out.
It’s difficult to argue with the end of that assessment, however, one gets the feeling that both Gray and Keys have been waiting to put the boot into West Ham following the hosts’ anti-Tim Steidten rant back in April.
I suspect that this will just be the beginning too, with many of the ‘be careful what you wish for’ crew licking their lips in anticipation of Julen Lopetegui’s failure.
