Basically, we weren’t very good first half, much better second half. It’s harder to judge us on that match, away to Big Six club, they’re playing like the established team they are, ref sets his stall out with a booking in the first minute. We make mistakes they exploit them, they make mistakes we don’t/can’t. Overall we kept going and I thought we ended better than we started. It’s tough at these grounds, the first thing you want is heads not dropping when it’s all going against you. Second half, especially, we kept our heads up, as a committed Rose-tinted happy clapper I thought it was closer than 3-0 but admit, anything other than a defeat would have been lucky : )
Personally, I’m happy to see us having the confidence and balls to go there and try and play the “Andoni way”. Didn’t seem to work to begin with but as the game went on it worked better. We’ve all been to these sort of fixtures, seen us set up to “contain” and limp away with a 3-0 defeat. I’m all for working to make our best better, not try and drag them down to “our level”. We’re, still, a work in progress but we’ve made/are making progress : )

After the game, AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola told Sky Sports…
“The stats were quite level but they were better when it mattered.
“When the game is on the line. They were much bet,ter than us. When they had the chances they made the difference.
“They are very dangerous, they have a lot of speed, especially up front with Darwin, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, they have a threat in behind.
“You look at the stats and I think we had 20 shots and seven corners. We had momentum but it had less value.”

On another day we could’ve had 2 or 3 but Liverpool could also have had 7 given some of the attempts to play out in and around our own penalty area, especially in the 2nd half. Overall, plenty of luck involved some good some bad. I thought the ref wasn’t bad, although I think they got away with a couple of yellows compared to us. – To join the conversation, click here.
