Dwight McNeil helped Everton to their first three points of the season at the weekend – and the winger celebrated with a huge plate of food from Toby Carvery
Everton’s Dwight McNeil celebrated his crucial role in securing the team’s first victory of the season by enjoying a hearty meal at his local Toby Carvery.
After netting two goals, the 24-year-old winger treated himself to a generous serving of gammon, roasties, stuffing, and veg, sharing the moment with his mate Ryan Hall, as What’s The Jam reported. The content creator quipped: “Bagged two. Plus three points so it’d be wrong not to treat Macca to a Toby.”
Fans were quick to comment on McNeil’s post-match feast, with one fan teasing, “Dwighty needs more veg,” while another expressed concern for his fitness, saying, “He won’t be able to run 20 yards if he finishes that.”

A third fan made a playful remark about the risk of eating gravy in a white shirt, noting, “Brave man and eating a gravy in that top,” and yet another chimed in with, “Not a fan of the old vegetables, our Dwight.”, reports the Daily Star.

Reflecting on his performance, McNeil shared, “It’s funny because me, Skip (Coleman) and Tarks (Tarkowski) talked in the pre-season about getting my stats up and how I can do that.”
He attributed his success to a mix of factors, including mentality, self-confidence, and support from teammates and coaching staff.
“Playing centrally as well, being more involved in the game, has helped get my stats up but there’s a long way to go and I know there’s a lot of improvement. For me I’m happy with what I’ve got so far but I want more, I want to kick on more. I want to learn more about the game, improve and help the team as best I can.”
“I want to help the team impact games as best I can because I want to improve for myself, help the team and see where it takes me. But the main thing was getting the three points on the board and the first win of the season at Goodison – but we’ve got to kick on.”
