West Ham United appear to have been offered an elite former Premier League winner.
Julen Lopetegui made some terrific signings for West Ham in the summer, but the Spaniard has more work still to do.
The addition of a powerful central midfielder who can carry the ball will be an absolute must for the Hammers in January, or the summer at the very least.
Failing to bring in a player like that in the summer was a huge oversight by Lopetegui and Tim Steidten.
I’m sure they both realise that now, and will be plotting a move to address our lack of dynamism in the middle of the park.
It seems like the Hammers transfer team have an incredible opportunity to do exactly that, with a top-class player apparently having been offered to them.
West Ham offered Ruben Loftus-Cheek
According to talkSPORT, sources close to Ruben Loftus-Cheek claim that the midfielder has been offered to West Ham.
If that is the case, Lopetegui absolutely has to snap him up.
Loftus-Cheek’s power, energy, dynamism and versatility would have us to a whole new level in my opinion.
The Englishman is a supremely talented central midfielder, and I think everyone would see the best of him if he is given regular game-time at West Ham.
Described by The Sun as an incredible player, the 28-year-old AC Milan ace would be a superb signing for West Ham.
Loftus-Cheek joined Milan in the summer of 2023 for around £14 million (Eurosport).
The former Chelsea man, who won a Premier League title with the Blues, has gone on to score 10 goals in 48 games for the Italian giants.
Let’s hope that there is some truth to the claims that the Englishman has been offered to the Hammers.
If West Ham do manage to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek in January, I think he would provide us with exactly what we’re missing, what with his pace, power and tremendous athleticism.
The beauty of signing him in January will be the fact that he is already stacked with Premier League experience.
Signing him should be a real no-brainer for West Ham.
