Edin Terzic is a wanted man, with both West Ham United and Manchester United said to be chasing the former Borussia Dortmund head coach.
West Ham allegedly have Edin Terzic on the radar as a potential replacement for Julen Lopetegui, but the same can be said for Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag under real pressure.
Lopetegui is under intense pressure right now at the London Stadium, and it’s little winder as to why the Hammers might be looking at Edin Terzic, with the Spaniard’s West Ham side having taken just eight points from their opening eight Premier League games.
Erik ten Hag knows all about what it’s like to be under pressure.
Had his team not come from behind to beat Brentford on Saturday, it wouldn’t have surprised anyone if the Man United board decided to move him on from Old Trafford.
It seems like that win might not even have been enough to keep the wolves at bay from the Dutchman’s door though.
German journalist Christian Falk has claimed that Manchester United have made contact to bring Edin Terzic to Old Trafford to replace Erik ten Hag.
Terzic, 41, took Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final last season – a game they subsequently lost to Real Madrid.
He’d be perfect for the Hammers, but Man United’s interest in bringing him to the Premier League is far from ideal for us.
The former West Ham assistant coach oversaw a fantastic season at Dortmund last season.
Interestingly, he was actually in the running to replace David Moyes a few months ago.
Terzic left us when Slaven Bilic was sacked in 2017, and eventually took over as interim Borussia Dortmund manager in December 2020.
He led them to domestic cup success in May 2021, but wasn’t installed as the permanent manager there until a year later.
Terzic was a huge success with Dortmund, and he nearly guided them to the Bundesliga title in the 2022/23 season.
Then last season, he has led his team to the Champions League final. Terzic obviously has something very special about him.
I would absolutely love him at the London Stadium – I have no doubts that he would take us to another level.
The problem for West Ham is that Manchester United allegedly want Edin Terzic as well.
And if they appoint him, it really will hit the Hammers where it hurts.
