Wycombe extended their unbeaten run to nine games in League One with a thrilling 3-2 victory over struggling Burton Albion, aided by West Ham loanee Gideon Kodua. Kodua, in his second loan spell with the Chairboys, opened the scoring after 16 minutes, calmly slotting home his first EFL goal from a Josh Scowen pass.
Kodua is in his second spell for the Chairboys having enjoyed a decent loan deal last season alongside fellow West Ham academy graduate Freddie Potts. The winger had impressed so much during an Irons u21 EFL Trophy game against Wycombe that the Bucks side decided to sign him . . . Twice.
While Kodua broke the deadlock, it was a late strike from Udoh, following a Fred Onyedinma cross, that sealed the win, pushing Wycombe into third place and just a point shy of the automatic promotion spots.
Congratulations Gideon.
