The upcoming January transfer window will be an incredibly important one for West Ham United.
West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui enjoyed what seemed like a fantastically successful summer transfer window, when he brought nine new players into the London Stadium.
However, it is painfully obvious to see that Lopetegui had a couple of huge blind spots in the summer, as did Tim Steidten of course.
Their failure to bring in a young pacy centre-forward and a powerful, energetic central midfielder was a massive oversight.
Now, the Hammers head coach and the director of football have to address that in the January transfer window.
It has been claimed that Lopetegui will be given time to prove himself by the board – perhaps another couple of months at least.
And whilst he definitely needs to sign some players in January – two as a bare minimum, he undoubtedly will be keen to move one or two on as well.
Looking like player will leave West Ham in January transfer window
The Hammers got rid of 12 players in the summer, on a mixture of permanent and loan deals, and free transfers of course.
There are still a few players who Lopetegui could do with getting rid of though, as far as I’m concerned.
And one of them is being heavily tipped to leave West Ham in the January window.
Turkish publication A Spor claim that Galatasaray are confident of signing Hammers right-back Vladimir Coufal this winter.
The Turkish giants actually tried to sign Coufal in the summer, but they were unable to meet West Ham’s £6 million demands for the 32-year-old in the end.
I think that the Czech Republic needs to leave the London Stadium this summer.
He’s a top professional, and has been a very solid and dependable player for us, but his time at the very highest level is done now in my opinion.
Coufal has played 161 games for West Ham, but he’s still yet to score a single goal, although he has racked up 20 assists,
The former Slavia Prague defender is now well behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the right-back pecking order at the London Stadium.
And there is absolutely no way that he’s forcing his way into the side ahead of the 26-year-old anytime soon.
If West Ham receive a decent offer for Vladimir Coufal in the January transfer window, I think we should sell him without thinking twice.
