Brazilian magnifico Lucas Paqueta has shut down worrying new claims about West Ham with his latest social media post.
It’s been another tempestuous week in the wonderful world of West Ham United.
The Hammers’ 4-1 defeat at Spurs has made sure of that.
That embarrassing thrashing has reignited speculation over the future of Julen Lopetegui.
Edin Terzic has reportedly been lined up as a replacement.
The West Ham board have issued Lopetegui with the dreaded ‘vote of confidence’ via insider Sean Whetstone.
A former Premier League striker has hit out about the appointment of Lopetegui, saying the Spaniard has ‘offered West Ham nothing’.
A top Athletic journalist claims the Hammers have become the Premier League’s circus once again.
And overnight reporter Alex Crook claimed some West Ham players and boardroom members are ‘unconvinced’ by Lopetegui.
Crook says there is unrest at the club since the appointment of the 57-year-old head coach.
Claims of unrest at West Ham over Lopetegui
And Whetstone appeared to suggest that is the case too by suggesting technical director Tim Steidten leaked the news about Terzic to the German journalist who broke it.
Mohammed Kudus’ moment of madness has been seen as a public display of frustration among the players.
It comes after other West Ham stars including Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez were seen angrily shaking their heads at the manager when substituted.
West Ham are an easy target at the moment.
Better performances and results are the only way to get themselves out of the media crosshairs.
Now Paqueta has made a mockery of those worrying West Ham claims in a new social media post.
Paqueta has been nothing short of woeful for the Hammers in 2024.
He’s not alone either.
But much better is expected from a player of his talent. Especially as he is the club’s highest earner ever on £150k per week.
Paqueta makes mockery of worrying West Ham claims
Paqueta has the weight of the world on his shoulders with the ongoing case against him which will decide the fate of his career in the new year.
He’s been playing like it too.
Time will tell whether that has been self-inflicted.
Instead of being West Ham’s problem solver, Paqueta has – in many ways – become the club’s biggest problem.
Amid all the rumours of unrest and unhappiness, though, the Brazilian magnifico has taken to Instagram Stories – as you can see in the post below.
And his video suggest the claims this week are being somewhat economical with the truth.
Paqueta has posted a video driving into training with his fellow Brazilian born duo Emerson Palmieri and Luis Guilherme.
The trio are seen singing and dancing as music blares while Emerson chauffeurs them to or from Rush Green.
Do these look like players who aren’t enjoying going into work everyday?
Quite the opposite in fact.
But West Ham fans want to see this kind of happiness and joy on the pitch.
There has not been anywhere near enough of it so far this season.
Of course there is one very simple way for the players to show they don’t have a problem with the manager.
Turn up, play your heart out and get some wins on the board.
Starting against Manchester United at the London Stadium this Sunday.
