West Ham United take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
In my opinion, the Premier League game against Nottingham Forest is a must-win for West Ham.
Forest are said to potentially be without five key players for the Hammers clash, and Julen Lopetegui can’t afford to let his team sit back and allow the hosts to dictate the tempo of the game.
This really is a match where Lopetegui and his players could completely change the narrative of the season so far.
A win would make it two victories in a row, and the chance to finish inside the European spots would then become a reality.
However, a defeat and it will be very much back to square one.
Lopetegui will be licking his lips ahead of the Forest clash after some news emerged from the City Ground today.
Double blow for Nottingham Forest ahead of West Ham clash
The Hammers fans will be desperate to see a top-class performance from the team this weekend.
It would be great if we can actually start the game well and then maintain high levels for the entire match.
It seems like West Ham may well have a very good chance of winning the game.
Morgan Gibbs-White and his backup Elliot Anderson both were absent from training this week, according to the Nottingham Post.
Gibbs-White is Forest’s best and most dangerous player, but to potentially not have his backup available as well really would rub the salt into the wounds for Nuno Espirito Santo.
On the flip-side, if neither Gibbs-White or Anderson are available to play, the door will be wide open for the Hammers to earn what would be a vital three points.
Don’t get me wrong, the City Ground is still a very tough place to go, and Forest have been flying this season.
However, there might not be a better time for West Ham to play Nottingham Forest, if both Gibbs-White and Anderson don’t play.
A win really would be huge for our season.
