Julen Lopetegui has selected his West Ham United stating XI for the clash with Nottingham Forest this afternoon.
West Ham head to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League today, and we desperately need a win.
If the Hammers pick up all three points, Julen Lopetegui and his players will be looking upwards at the European places, rather than below them at the relegation zone.
Despite last weekend’s win over Manchester United, Lopetegui is still a man under pressure, and the Spaniard has to prove that the viCtory last weekend was not a fluke.
Nottingham Forest are a very good team though, and they’ll be incredibly difficult to beat.
That said, Lopetegui has a fantastic squad of players available to him, aside from Niclas Fullkrug and Mohammed Kudus through injury and suspension respectively of course.
A win this afternoon is a must in my eyes – it could change the entire narrative surrounding us as a club right now.
West Ham starting XI vs Nottingham Forest confirmed
Lopetegui has gone with a bold team selection for this one.
He has made two changes from the team that beat Man United 2-1 on Sunday, as confirmed via the club’s official X account.
Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Emerson Palmieri, Guido Rodriguez, Edson Alvarez, Lucas Paqueta, Crysencio Summerville, Jarrod Bowen
Todibo and Summerville come into the side in place of Carlos Soler and Michail Antonio.
That West Ham team listed above is more than good enough to go to the City Ground and beat Nottingham Forest.
However, each and every player has to be 100% on their games in order for a victory to be possible.
I like the fact that we could be playing a 3-4-3 today, or a 3-5-2, whatever way you want to look at it – it proves that Lopetegui is flexible.
A win could take us as high as eighth in the table, if results elsewhere go in our favour.
It’s time for Lopetegui and his players to really turn the season around, COYI X
