West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui faces an extremely uncertain future at the London Stadium right now.
Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes as West Ham boss in the summer, but he has overseen regression at the London Stadium, rather than any kind of progress.
It has even been claimed that ex-Hammers coach Edin Terzic is being lined up to replace Lopetegui.
There are currently nine out-of-work managers who Sullivan could appoint to replace Lopetegui without paying a penny.
If the Hammers co-owner is going to pull the trigger and sack Lopetegui, he should do it during the next international break.
However, there apparently won’t be any ‘exciting replacements’ being lined up for him…
West Ham have a problem if Julen Lopetegui is sacked
The Hammers head coach has seriously failed to impressed at the London Stadium.
Many of the West Ham fans have already had enough of the Spaniard.
However, if he is sent packing at any point in the near future, don’t expect an ‘exciting replacement’ to come into the club.
The Athletic’s Euro Expert Alex Barker has suggested that there is a reason why that is the case.
Barker took to his X account to make the following post:
I guess that kind of makes sense, but at least six of the nine free agent managers mentioned above on the market right now are English speakers.
I guess Barker is referring to Maurizio Sarri, but the Italian can speak broken English, and he has done on occasions in the past.
The thing for me is that football is so multi-cultural now, with numerous different nationalities present at the London Stadium.
Does the manager really need to speak English? As long as he’s able to get results on the pitch, I couldn’t care less what language he speaks!
David Sullivan clearly doesn’t agree though.
