The Spaniard’s job is said to be safe right now, although he will be under no illusions about the fact that results and performances must improve.

So one of our very best young talents has just put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Hammers.
On his 17th birthday, Airidas Golambeckis went to Rush Green to sign the deal (WHUFC).
The teenager is a huge talent, he really is. He’s a centre-back by trade, but I think he’ll evolve into a central midfielder as time goes on.
Golambeckis has similar attributes to Declan Rice, and he really impressed for the England under-18s side last month, scoring a goal for his country during a 3-1 win over Ukraine.
The Hammers youngster has already bagged three goals in seven games for West Ham’s under-18s this season – not bad for a central defender.
The teenager possesses exceptional technical ability and has energy, stamina and ball-carrying ability in abundance.
Airidas Golambeckis has been one of the standout players for the West Ham under-18s this season, and it will be very interesting to keep a close eye on his development over the next year or so.
