There are few players who have been around the club as long as keeper Becky Spencer, and today the club announced that she’ll be sticking around even longer. Spurs made a surprise announcement today on social media that Jamaica international Spencer has extended her five-year stay at the club, signing a new deal that will keep her at Spurs through the 2025-26 season.
We are delighted to announce that Becky Spencer has signed a new contract with the Club that will run until June 2026 ✍️

Keeper has been a bit of a churn at Spurs over the past few seasons, though Becky has been the one constant. The 33 year old Spencer, a product of Arsenal’s academy, joined Spurs in 2019 from West Ham right after Spurs first promoted to the WSL and now has 60 league appearances. She’s a talented shot stopper, and in recent seasons has had to beat back challenges from other keepers including Finnish international Tinja-Riikka Korpela and most recently Barbora Votikova. Neither managed to dislodge Becky from her starting position.
Speaking to SPURSPLAY, Spencer said she’s thrilled to extend her stay at Tottenham longer.
“I’m over the moon, I have been here for a long time now so, for me, it was important that I got this done. Obviously, having conversations with Robert, it’s really pleasing that they want to keep me here so I’m really, really happy.
“When I first joined, the Club had just got into the WSL, a lot of different players, a lot of different of staff, so the journey we have been on has been incredible and it was something I didn’t want to let go of. I’m happy to continue the journey with the Club, we have come a long way and we still have a long way to go.”
There have been murmurs that Spurs are working towards signing a long-term upgrade at the keeper position, but the extension of Spencer’s contract could be as simple as the club wanting to make sure there’s continuity at the position, even if they try and bring in someone new. Spencer’s had her issues with consistency and with injuries over the past five years, but she’s also a major reason why Spurs have continued to improve to the point where they’re consistently finishing in the top half of the league.
Congratulations to Becky!
