The Premier League has built its reputation on getting the world’s biggest and most successful footballers to play in England.
Over the years, we have seen legends of the game like Cristiano Ronaldo play in the top-flight, and even though, he’s gone there are plenty of extremely decorated players remaining.
Stars from Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have pretty much won it all at club and international level.
So, who are the top ten most decorated players still in the Premier League? talkSPORT.com takes a look.
NB: All club and national team senior honours, including the Community Shield, are counted but individual and youth awards aren’t.
10. Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) – 15
Jesus is the only Arsenal representative in this list, even though he’s won all of his honours at Man City.
The Brazilian international picked up four Premier League titles while at the Etihad.
He joined the Gunners in the summer of 2022 to reunite with Mikel Arteta, and though he’s come close to adding to his trophy cabinet, it hasn’t quite happened.
So, though he has plenty of medals, he would have a lot more if he stayed in Manchester.
9= John Stones (Manchester City) – 17
So begins the Manchester City dominance of this list.
Stones is the first of many representatives, and the England international’s move from Everton to the Etihad in 2016 has proven to be a very successful one.
Under Pep Guardiola, he’s won the lot, and given he’s just 30, there is still plenty of more success to come.
Stones’ ability to step into midfield and his knack for scoring important goals makes him a crucial player.
9= Kyle Walker (Manchester City) – 17
The England international didn’t win a single major honour until he joined Manchester City in the summer of 2017 from Tottenham.
Since then, he’s picked up five Premier League trophies in the space of six seasons, as well as several other domestic honours.
Walker has evolved into a genuine world-class full-back in all areas of his game.
His recovery pace ensures that no winger ever faces an easy match and his crowning moment came when he helped City win the treble, including that long-awaited Champions League trophy.
9= Phil Foden (Manchester City) – 17
Foden is a City academy graduate and could stay with the Manchester giants his whole career and consistently win things.
The England international is only 24 but has already picked up six Premier League winners medals.
Of course, when he first started, Foden didn’t play that often, but he’s a player Pep Guardiola has been patient with and is now getting the rewards.
He can play on either wing or just behind the striker and is arguably England’s most talented player.
6. Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City) – 18
Gundogan is back in the Premier League and back at the Etihad after one year away.
He moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer after some incredibly successful years with City, while before that, Borussia Dortmund were winning trophies with him in the side.
However, due to the Spanish giant’s financial woes, he was let go for nothing and returned to Manchester.
He will hope to add to his extensive trophy collection in his second tenure with the Citizens.
5= Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) – 22
The midfielder is another City player on this list but no other member of Guardiola’s squad is as underrated.
The diminutive Portuguese international is one of his manager’s favourite players and someone who his teammates love playing with, but he probably doesn’t get as much respect as he should from the general public.
His time in Manchester has been filled with success, and during the semi-finals of the Champions League, in the 2022/23 season, he produced one of his best displays as City blew Real Madrid away to make it to the final before claiming glory.
Before moving to England, Bernardo played a huge role in a Monaco side that included Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho as they stunned everyone to win Ligue 1.
5= Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City) – 22
Kovacic is a recent addition to this City side, but he’s already picked up four medals, including his first Premier League title.
The Croatian international boasts a large collection of silverware, including four Champions League trophies.
Three of those came at Real Madrid, and the last one was with Chelsea, in which he played ten games as the Blues became champions of Europe against City.
Kovacic could never quite break into the Real midfield, but in England, he’s thrived.
5= Casemiro (Man United) – 22
The Brazilian enforcer’s signing was criticised by many non-Man United fans due to the fee [potentially £70m] and his wages, which are estimated to be over £300,000-a-week.
But during his first year, he helped the Red Devils win the League Cup and proved why he’s been so successful, although he’s since dropped off.
However, he did play a part in Man United winning the FA Cup at the end of the 2023/24 season against Man City.
There aren’t many more determined players than Casemiro, and that attitude has helped him pick up a huge swathe of trophies.
While at Real, he was the perfect foil for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, and that midfield trio won five Champions League trophies before Casemiro moved on.
2. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – 23
The Belgian maestro is the longest-serving City player on this list, having joined the club in 2015 under Manuel Pellegrini.
And because of this, he only has one further City trophy than Walker, Foden or Bernardo.
But he was successful in Germany with Wolfsburg and in Belgium with his first club, Genk.
However, it’s under Guardiola’s guidance that we’ve seen the best of De Bruyne, who has 171 City assists to his name and a further 103 goals.
If it wasn’t for injuries, the 33-year-old might have won even more, but he will be pretty content with his huge trophy haul that could easily grow this year and beyond.
1. Ederson (Manchester City) – 24
Ederson is the final City name on this list and the most decorated active player in the Premier League, and there aren’t too many more important players than the goalkeeper
His arrival at the Etihad in 2017 set the foundations for the dynasty that Guardiola has built in Manchester.
The 31-year-old is possibly the best goalkeeper in the world at playing out from the back, and he is often used as an extra outfielder, spraying passes all over the pitch.
In most games, he’s rarely troubled due to City’s superiority over many other sides.
But in the 2022/23 Champions League final, he came up with some huge saves to ensure his side were crowned champions of Europe.
