One West Ham United player in particular seems destined to leave the London Stadium, after four years service.
Julen Lopetegui brought nine new players to West Ham United in the summer, whilst 12 left the London Stadium.
The Hammers head coach was given the chief remit of getting rid of as much deadwood as he could four months ago.
Whilst he managed to move on most of the under-performers, a fair few still remained at the club.
That could all change in January or next summer at the latest though, regardless of who is in charge of the club.
And one fan favourite is seemingly set for a free transfer exit from West Ham.
Vladimir Coufal’s time with West Ham coming to an end
The 32-year-old right-back joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague in October 2020, for a fee believed to be worth around £5 million.
Coufal has been a fantastic professional for West Ham, and he was brilliant for us during his first two seasons in East London.
However, he has regressed badly since the start of the 2022/23 season, and has now lost his place in the team to the far superior Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
According to Claret and Hugh, there is a good chance that Vladimir Coufal will leave the London Stadium on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.
Vlad will be out of contract with the Hammers at the end of this season, and will be free to make a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1st onwards.
I personally think we should have moved on from the 49-capped Czech Republic international in the summer.
Let’s not forget, the right-back was being heavily linked with a move out to Turkey to join Galatasaray after all.
He’s nowhere near good enough to be playing regular Premier League football anymore, and I fully expect him to leave West Ham at the end of the season.
Then I look forward to seeing us sign a young up and coming right-back with pace and power in abundance to challenge Wan-Bissaka for his place in the first-team.
