Both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have a reported interest in AFC Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.
The Spurs interest, which would see Semenyo reunited with Dominic Solanke has come from media outlet football-london via the Mirror. Whilst the Liverpool link has been reported by Sky Sports News with Semenyo muted to be a potential target to replace Mohammed Salah.
In March, Richard Hughes announced that he was leaving AFC Bournemouth for Liverpool.
Hughes left his role as Cherries’ first-team technical director to become Liverpool’s new sporting director, so links with players he has a previous history with were always likely.

However, according to reports via The Mirror, Semenyo who only signed a new five-year contract with the Cherries in July, could be set to be offered another improved deal. The report adds that “the club’s hierarchy want to make it difficult for the Ghana international to be snapped up by a rival”.
AFC Bournemouth signed Antoine Semenyo in January 2023 for a reported £9 million with an addition £1.5 million in potential add-ons from Bristol City.
Semenyo is a product of Bristol City’s academy and had played 125 times for Bristol City in all competitions, scoring 21 times prior to his move to AFC Bournemouth.
After loan spells with Bath City, Newport County and Sunderland, his real breakthrough season as a goalscorer came during 2021/22 season, where he scored 8 times in his final 24 appearances of that season for City.
During the start of the following campaign, he scored 9 goals for club and country and made two appearances in the World Cup for Ghana. That form persuaded the Cherries to make a move for the explosive attacker.
Since making the move to Dean Court, the 24-year-old has scored 13 Premier League goals in 54 top-flight appearances, including 4 already this season.

Can see him developing and growing into a Liverpool team. They’ve had excellent athletic wingers over the years.
Seemingly has it all as a modern winger. Plus unusual size/stature, but not slow as a result. Bit of a freak, in a positive way. Explosive. Very difficult to predict/handle.
A sign of a top winger, in my opinion, is that after a sustained period, they’re still difficult to contain. Sometimes, young, explosive wingers make an exciting initial impact. But once clubs work out their weaknesses, they’re nullified.
That hasn’t happened with Semenyo. Quite the opposite.

Can’t recall seeing anyone with the ability of Antoine to perfectly control a long ball with his first touch. Over and over again.
I keep wondering where the ball went, and then I realize “oh, it’s right at his feet.”
