Tottenham host Ipswich Town in the Premier League
Less than 72 hours following their defeat in Istanbul at the hands of Galatasaray in the Europa League, Tottenham Hotspur have a chance to bounce back to winning ways against Ipswich Town in the Premier League. The Lilywhites host the Premier League’s newcomers on Sunday, November 10th, at 14:00 local time, in a clash that they should be favourites to win.
It is the team’s second successive fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League and Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that his side can replicate last week’s 4-1 win over Aston Villa versus the Tractor Boys. Spurs, however, will be without a number of important players, some of which should return after the international break.
Team News
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have no suspensions in their camp but might be without as many as seven first team players on Sunday. Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are by far the most noteworthy couple of absentees, while the offensive trio of Wilson Odobert, Timo Werner and Richarlison is not expected to feature either. Mikey Moore has taken ill and is doubtful, as a result, while Djed Spence remains on the sidelines with a groin problem too.
Spurs’ defensive department is compromised but the attacking third has enough firepower to win the game as Dominic Solanke is among those in fine form having struck thrice in his last two matches. Son Heung-min is also fully fit and will play a big role on Sunday, while Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski have the quality to be differentials as well.
PREDICTED TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR XI (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Kulusevski, Sarr, Madisson; Johnson, Solanke, Son
Ipswich Town
Ipswich Town will also be without a number of players on their visit to north London. Kieran McKenna will be unable to call upon Kalvin Phillips as he is suspended, whereas Axel Tuanzebe, Chiedozie Ogbene and Jacob Greaves are all injured and expected to miss the trip. Liam Delap is fit and favoured to start, however, having struck five Premier League goals so far this season.
The Tractor Boys are winless in the English top flight so far having lost and drawn five matches apiece, so it remains to be seen whether or not they have it in them to take anything off Tottenham. As a result of their form, they sit 18th in the league standings and another failure in picking up maximum points will increase the pressure on McKenna.
PREDICTED IPSWICH TOWN XI (4-2-3-1) Muric; Johnson, O’Shea, Burgess, Davis; Cajuste, Morsy; Hutchinson, Chaplin, Szmodics; Delap
Match-deciding duel
Dominic Solanke vs Dara O’Shea
All eyes will be on Dominic Solanke to add to his goal tally when Tottenham face Ipswich on Sunday. He will be up against a physically adept and positionally strong defender in Dara O’Shea, who can stop the world’s finest players on his day. The Englishman’s duel with the Irisman will be an interesting watch and could go a long way in deciding the course of the game.
To usurp the 25-year-old, Solanke will need to be quick with his touches in the box and will not get as much time as he has in his last few matches. Moreover, he may need to use his body a lot more as well, as opposed to peeling away from his marker.

Prediction
Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Ipswich Town
Liam Delap’s goal-scoring form might not be enough to overcome a compact Tottenham defence as Guglielmo Vicario will keep his side’s first clean sheet in several matches. Dominic Solanke, on the other hand, will influence another match for Spurs while Son Heung-min will also put on a show and get the better of Ben Johnson nearly every time he comes up against the 24-year-old.
