West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui is in a world of pain right now, after Saturday’s bore draw with Everton.
It was a disastrous day all round for West Ham, and Julen Lopetegui looked completely lost on the sidelines – a man powerless to arrest his team’s recent slide.
The Hammers head coach has actually overseen a painful regression since taking over from David Moyes.
And that’s saying something, given our struggles during the second half of last season.
In my opinion, Lopetegui needs to be moved on from the London Stadium as a matter of urgency.
West Ham face games against Newcastle and Arsenal after the international break, and I can’t see us getting any points from those games.
Considering the money spent on transfers in the summer, Lopetegui should be under intense pressure right now, and the same can be said for Tim Steitden.
He hasn’t got many fans around the club right now, and not many are on his side in the media either.
Julen Lopetegui should be embarrassed by what he did after Everton
The 58-year-old is far from popular in the East End of London right now.
The football we’re witnessing has been turgid, and he’s not getting consistent results either.
In addition to those things, he lacks any kind of personality, and the fans have been unable to warm to him.
The same can be said for journalists as well it seems.
I have never seen a manager conduct his press conferences in such a boring manner as the Spaniard does.
Alex Crook took to his X account on Saturday, and shared something very annoying that Lopetegui did after the game:
That’s disgraceful behaviour from Lopetegui, and he should be embarrassed.
You can tell a lot about a man by his timekeeping.
Tim for a change, Lopetegui has to go
Julen Lopetegui is playing a dangerous game right now, and he risks alienating the fans, his players and the media with his robotic approach.
In my opinion, the Hammers need a more charismatic manager – someone like Jose Mourinho would be perfect.
Lopetegui just isn’t the man for the job if you ask me.
After the draw with Everton yesterday, the West Ham fans were fuming with Julen Lopetegui, and it seems like the journalists in attendance were as well.
The perfect time to make a managerial change would be now, with 15 days until our next game.
Knowing the board though, that won’t be happening. David Sullivan doesn’t make changes until we’re in immediate danger of relegation.
However, that could change after our next two games.
