From today’s Sunday Times comes an article claiming that The West Ham United Board are meeting next week to discuss Julen Lopetegui’s future. It is behind their paywall but you can read it for yourself. I’ve attached the headline. All very different to the story provided by our own high-ranking source at the club who claims that Lopetegui’s results need to improve but certainly did NOT admit to any such meeting next week.
Our understanding is that Lopetegui will have the whole of the international break plus. plus..plus.. as the board give him time to improve results.
The article in the Sunday Times, written by Tom Allnutt, details:
“The West Ham United majority shareholder David Sullivan and the technical director Tim Steidten will meet next week to discuss the future of Julen Lopetegui after the head coach’s poor start.
The club will not rush into a decision over Lopetegui’s position, with the international break seen as a chance to take stock after the team’s disappointing season so far. They have won only three of their first 11 Premier League games and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup.”
So, for the benefit of our readers, we will be asking our high ranking source at West Ham whether there is any truth in the ‘board to meet next week to discuss Lopetegui’s future’ claim. We’ll let you know of the response.
