Another interesting development – in view of what has been written before with head coaches or managers claiming to be shortlisted as lining up ready to replace Julen Lopetegui: Another former West Ham Manager speaking on TalkSPORT issued a thinly veiled ‘come and get me’ offer to David Sullivan.
As for the repercussions, ramifications and rights or wrongs of Alan Pardew as the new West Ham Coach – well. I’d need time to reflect on that.
One play-off final lost, one play-off final won and an FA Cup losing medal in his three seasons certainly made Pards’ reign at Upton Park eventful !
Speaking live on talksport today and discussing the Lopetegui situation, Pardew made his own position very clear:’ I’d happily go back”.
Has the world of coaching moved on since his tenure? Yes. Does he still have something to offer over the chaotic football of Julen Lopetegui? Yes. Does that make him the ideal choice? No.
Hopefully West Ham have now outgrown Pardew’s methodology and can aim a little higher in terms of credentials. But, ‘Never Say Never ‘- what an awesome caretaker manager he’d be if Lopetegui repeats his ‘Wolves Walk Out’.
Funny old game football, you just never know what’s around the corner.
