Claudio Ranieri has returned to football, after making an official retirement announcement after last season, leaving Cagliari in a safe place in Serie A, taking them up the season before. Ranieri (73) has joined Roma on deal to the end of the season. This will be his 3rd time in charge, also known for his early playing days at the club as well as being born in the city and being a long living fan.

Calvin Bassey played the full game for Fulham in their 2-0 away win to Crystal Palace. Timothy Castagne was an unused sub for The Cottagers. Jeffrey Schlupp came on for The Eagles in the 74th minute. Youri Tielemans was in the starting line-up for Aston Villa when they lost 2-0 away to Liverpool.
Callum Wright was in the starting line-up for Plymouth in their 1-1 draw away to Derby. Martyn Waghorn came on from the subs bench when his Northampton drew 1-1 away to Chris Davis and his Birmingham.
Richie Wellens and his Leyton Orient defeated Blackpool 3-0 at home. Sam Hughes came on as a sub in the 63rd minute when Stockport defeated Bolton 5-0 at home. Silko Thomas started for Wigan in their 0-1 home defeat to league leaders Wycombe.
Josh Knight was a second half sub for Hannover in their 1-3 away defeat to Elversberg. Hannover are the current leaders of Bundesliga 2.
