FC Barcelona are one of the many clubs linked to Sporting Lisbon standout Viktor Gyökeres. In an interview, a key club chief revealed where the Spanish side stands in this crowded race.
According to Loïc Tanzi of L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs keeping an eye on Gyökeres, with the intention of pursuing him in the summer of 2025. PSG’s sporting advisor, Luís Campos, has reportedly already made contact with the forward’s representatives.
At the same time, Barcelona have also shown interest in Gyökeres. A Bola reports that Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has begun discussions with Sporting Lisbon about a potential move for the 25-year-old.

While A Bola’s report reveals that the Catalan club are a prominent figure in the race, Deco’s remarks to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Foot Mercato) tell a different stance.
“He’s a good player, he’s been scoring goals for a long time in Portugal, we know him as well as others, but he’s not our priority at the moment and we’re not looking for a nine to replace Robert,” Deco said.
The Daily Briefing reports that Manchester United are looking to make a move for Gyökeres under Amorim, who is familiar with the striker from his time in Lisbon.
It’s possible that Joshua Zirkzee could be the player sacrificed in this deal, with the report suggesting that the Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford is already uncertain.
