West Ham United striker Niclas Fullkrug has been out of action for more than two months now.
Niclas Fullkrug suffered an injury whilst away on international duty with Germany in September, and he hasn’t featured for West Ham since.
West Ham’s huge mistake of signing Niclas Fullkrug has been laid bare recently, especially with some of our other targets like Jhon Duran and Jonathan David ripping it up.
The 31-year-old was definitely a Tim Steidten signing, but Julen Lopetegui should have pushed harder to bring a younger striker with explosive pace and movement to the London Stadium.
However, they’ve made their bed, now they have to lie in it.
No return date is pencilled in for Fullkrug just yet, and the Hammers are said to be trying ‘alternative remedies’ in order to get him back ready to play.
The Germany international has barely played for us, but he already seems destined to fail in East London.
One thing’s for sure, West Ham seem to be desperate to keep the true extent of Fullkrug’s injury under wraps…
Niclas Fullkrug mystery deepens as West Ham post image
The Hammers players all gathered at the London Stadium for the team photos on Thursday.
West Ham fans were all keeping our eyes peeled for Fullkrug, and we got what we wanted, or did we?
At first glance, the German was in the picture, second from the left on the back row.
However, upon closer inspection, that proved not to be the case.
Here’s the image in question, posted on the club’s official website and X account:
Now, it’s quite clear that Fullkrug has been cropped into the photo, and there’s proof…
Take a look at the video posted by the Hammers, and pause at the 34 second mark…
‘Fullkrug’, in between Jean-Clair Todibo and Konstantinos Mavropanos, seems to have shrunk by a few inches!
I get that the Niclas Fullkrug signing has caused embarrassment for the West Ham transfer team, but the fact that the club felt the need to photoshop him into the squad photo yesterday is hugely concerning.
It tells me that his injury is bad enough to prevent him from taking part in even the most simple of activities.
I’m still hoping that Niclas Fullkrug returns to action for West Ham soon and proves everyone wrong by scoring bundles of goals.
I really can’t see that ever happening though, and I believe the Fullkrug signing will end up being one of our worst in recent history.
