West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus is said to be on the radar of Arsenal ahead of the January transfer window.
It has been claimed that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants West Ham star Mohammed Kudus at the Emirates, but the north London outfit are said to be wary of breaching new PSR guidelines.
Mohammed Kudus has an £85 million release clause inserted into his current contract with West Ham, and that means that we will be powerless to stop him from leaving next summer.
The Hammers fans haven’t got to enjoy Kudus at his best this season, and he has been out of action since October 19th, when he was sent-off against Tottenham.
The 24-year-old is not set to return until December 3rd, so it’s been an extremely tough campaign for him individually, just as much as it has been for West Ham as a team.
West Ham need Kudus back and firing on all cylinders when his suspension ends.
However, the Ghanaian’s long-term future at the London Stadium is looking bleak right now.
West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus problem will impact Arsenal
The 24-year-old has been sensational for the Hammers since joining us from Ajax for £38 million in the summer of 2023.
Kudus has bagged 16 goals and seven assists in 55 appearances for West Ham so far.
He is a huge talent, and has the ability needed to go on and succeed at the very highest level of the game.
The thought of losing him to Arsenal is a painful one, especially after Declan Rice made the move to north London in 2023.
Now we’ve been dealt another blow regarding Kudus, but interestingly, Arsenal have as well.
According to reports out in Spain, several clubs out in Saudi Arabia are interested in bringing Kudus to the Middle East.
That’s obviously bad news for the Hammers, because they certainly won’t have any problem meeting his £85 million release clause.
However, it’s bad news for Arsenal as well, as the clubs out in Saudi will be able to offer the Ghana international a simply extortionate salary in comparison to what the Gunners will be able to afford.
The worst case scenario for West Ham will be Mohammed Kudus joining Arsenal, so I suppose that him leaving for Saudi would be the lesser of two evils.
However, the mere fact that clubs from the Saudi Pro League are interested in signing the 24-year-old will make it almost impossible for us to keep him now.
And that is a really painful thing to accept.
